I thought that whilst I sit here waiting until the offices in the university are open so that I can hand my essay in, I might as well write something. My first exam is on Wednesday, in Portuguese, and controversially I've been doing some work for it. I forced myself to sit inside all day throughout Saturday's blazing sunshine, so that I could use Sunday's blazing sunshine to full effect. I ended up at Ilkley Quarry, with a couple of mates from the climbing club.
A sunny Sunday afternoon saw Ilkley become very busy, mostly with families just coming up for a picnic and so on. Despite the crowds I still managed to get some quality (and some less quality) climbing done, the best climb by far being Cherry Valley Rib, an exposed and relatively bold HVS. I almost got on an E3 called Sinister Rib, but I decided that with that many people there, nobody (including myself) wanted to see me scraped up off the deck and into an ambulance!
After getting back from Ilkley, I spend the early evening with Alison, and then headed off to my favourite pub with my favourite people. One of the best days this year - good weather, good climbing, good friends and good beer! I only hope that there are more like that to follow in the next few months.
